Stocks fall after two-day’s rise
Bangladesh stock market dropped today after a rise in the last two days.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), fell 21 points, or 0.31 per cent, to 6,750 at the end of the day.
At the DSE, 76 stocks advanced, 263 declined and 39 remained the same.
Turnover, an important indicator of the market, dropped 9.8 per cent to Tk 863 crore. The amount was Tk 957 crore a day ago.
Beximco remained the most traded stock with shares worth Tk 124 crore changing hands followed by BDCOM Online, Sonali Paper, Fortune Shoes, and Delta Life Insurance.
Oimex Electrodes topped the gainers' list that rose 9.55 per cent followed by Sonali Paper, Delta Life Insurance, Bashundhara Paper Mills and Prime Finance First ICB AMCL Mutual Fund.
Delta Brac Housing shed mostly that dropped 10 per cent followed by AMCL Pran, Malek Spinning, Queen South Textiles and Social Islami Bank.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) dropped today. The CASPI, the main index of the CSE, edged down 11 points to 19,802.
Among 308 traded stocks, 93 rose, 177 fell and 38 remained the same.
