2 entrepreneurs, 4 firms get The Daily Star ICT Awards 2021
Two IT entrepreneurs and four enterprises have been honoured with The Daily Star ICT Awards 2021 for their pioneering roles and achievements in Bangladesh's information and communication technology (ICT) sector.
The awards were presented through a ceremony at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden today in six categories -- digital commerce, start-up, ICT solution provider (international market), ICT solution provider (local market), ICT business person and ICT pioneer.
Syed Mamnun Quader, managing director and chief executive officer of Southtech Group, won the ICT Pioneer award.
Besides, Kamal Quadir, founder and chief executive officer of bKash, won the ICT Business Person of the Year award.
Rokomari.com, a leading online shop, received the Digital Commerce of the Year award, Shajgoj Limited got the ICT Startup of The Year 2021 award while Ulkasemi Limited got the ICT Solution Provider of the Year award (international market focus) and Pridesys IT Ltd received ICT Solution Provider of the Year award (local market focus).
Gowher Rizvi, international affairs adviser to the prime minister, attended the ceremony as chief guest.
The programme was powered by Brac Bank Ltd, Daraz and Independent University, Bangladesh and enlightened by the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).
Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden was the hospitality partner for the event.
The Daily Star has been recognising the unsung and silent ICT heroes since 2016 and putting the spotlight on excellent works in the ICT sector for bringing positive changes in society.
