ADB forecasts 8% GDP growth for Bangladesh

The Asian Development Bank today projected 8 percent GDP growth for Bangladesh for the current fiscal year.

The multilateral lender said if Bangladesh can achieve the growth rate, it will be the highest in Asia.

ADB disclosed this at the launch of its annual flagship publication Asian Development Outlook (ADO) 2019 at its Dhaka office.

Buoyant exports, robust private consumption, higher remittances, accommodative monetary policy, ongoing reform to improve business climate and higher infrastructure spending have helped Bangladesh attain high growth.
