Syed Abul Maksud to be laid to rest today

Renowned columnist, researcher, essayist and writer Syed Abul Maksud's janaza and burial will be held today.

Maksud's son Syed Nasif Maksud told The Daily Star that the noted journalist's body will be taken to Jatiya Press Club from Square Hospital at 2:30pm. A namaz-e-janaza will be held at the Press Club.

From Press Club, his body will be taken to Central Shaheed Minar so that citizens can pay their final respects. Another janaza will be held after Asr prayers at Dhaka University Central Mosque after that.

Syed Abul Maksud will be buried at Azimpur Graveyard.

He breathed his last at Square Hospital in Dhaka yesterday. He was 74.
