Passenger trains won't operate during lockdown: railways minister
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan today said they will not operate passenger trains once lockdown is imposed.
"Trains are a public transport run by the government. So, we will take steps as per the decision of the government," he told The Daily Star over phone this afternoon.
"Everything would be clear after the circular [on lockdown] is issued [expected by this evening]," he added.
Freight trains would operate as usual, the minister said.
