No rush on Dhaka-Tangail highway
Northern region-bound holidaymakers are travelling without any hassle as very few private cars, microbuses, trucks and pick-up vans are plying the Dhaka-Tangail highway today -- a day before Eid.
Today, some long-distance buses were also seen on the highway.
There was no congestion on the highway, our Tangail correspondent reports after visiting the spot.
The pressure of vehicles on the highway may increase as the day proceeds, said Yasir Arafat, in-charge of Elega highway police outpost.
The highway saw huge rush of vehicles for the last few days as thousands of home-goers left Dhaka and adjacent area to celebrate Eid with their near and dear ones.
