Hefajat leader Junayed Al Quasemi arrested in Brahmanbaria
Criminal Investigation Department arrested Hefajat-e-Islam leader Junayed Al Quasemi from Brahmanbaria this morning.
He was one of the masterminds behind violence in the district in March this year, said Jisanul Haque, senior assistant superintendent (Media wing) of CID.
During the violence on March 26-28, teachers and students of different madrasas vandalised and torched different government and non-government establishments and houses in the district.
Law enforcers have so far arrested nearly 400 leaders and activists of the Islamist group in connection with 56 cases over the mayhem.
