‘Free Rozina’: Nationwide protest by journalists continue

Journalists across the country continue to condemn Prothom Alo's senior reporter Rozina Islam's assault, arrest on Monday and demand her immediate release.
MUNSHIGANJ
Journalists in Bangladesh will continue protests until legal action is taken against those responsible, said Munshiganj journalists to our correspondent while taking part in a protest rally demanding Rozina's immediate release.
Munshiganj Press Club President Nasir Uddin Ujjal said, the health minister is trying to cover the irregularities in his ministry. The protests will go on until Rozina gets justice, he added.
Munshiganj Press Club general secretary Mamunur Rashid Khoka, former president Shahid-e-Hasan Tuhin and other journalists working in electronics and print media were also present.
CHAPAINAWABGANJ
A human chain was held in front Chapainawabganj Press Club today in protest of Rozina's arrest and the case filed against her. Speakers at human chain said, the barbaric attack on journalist Rozina has provoked not only the journalists but also general people of this country. Such incidents seek to choke the voice of independent media, they alleged.

Former president of Chapainawabganj Press Club Taslim Uddin, Golam Mostofa, general secretary Shahidul Huda Alok, district Press Club president Jafrul Alam, general secretary Rafiqul Alam, journalist Anwar Hossain Dilu were among the speakers at the hour-long human chain.
BENAPOLE
Journalists of Benapole took part in a rally and human chain in protest of the imprisonment of Rozina. They demanded fair and neutral investigation and unconditional release of the senior reporter.

Benpole Press Club president and The Daily Star reporter Mohsin Milon led the protest held in front of the Customs House. Reporters and journalist leaders were also there, said our correspondent.
Milon Khan of Asian TV, Sheikh Nasir Uddin of SATV, Ekattor TV's Muslim Imtazur Rahman, Jugantor's Kamal Hossain, Sangbad's Debul Kumar Das, Eyanur Rahman of Bhorer Kagoj, ATN Bangla's Ahmed Ali Shahin, Channel i and Samakal's Sajedur Rahman, Bokul Mahbub of Bangladesh Protidin, and general secretary of Benapole Press Club MR Rahman Rashu, among others, were at the human chain.

Sylhet Press Club also expressed strong condemnation of harassment and arrest of the senior reporter of Prothom Alo.

Print and electronic media journalists took part in this protest at the club premises today.
