Closure of secondary, higher secondary educational institutions extended till May 29

The government has extended the closure of all secondary and higher secondary educational institutions till May 29, as a preventive measure against further spread of coronavirus.

The education ministry communicated the decision in a statement tonight, which also said that online education will continue during the closure.

The closure, first brought into effect on March 17 last year, was extended several times.

The last extension, before tonight's one, was till May 22.
