BGB arrests Indian citizen from Kurigram border
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an Indian national from Phulbari border in Kurigram last night.
The detainee is Alam Miah (40), hailing from Chowdhuryhat Sadialkati village under Sahebganj Police Station in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal, reports our Kurigram correspondent quoting Sarwar Parvez, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Phulbari Police Station.
Meanwhile, a Kurigram court sent the man to jail this morning, the OC said.
According to police sources, a patrolling team of Anantapur BOP Camp BGB detained the Indian national from Bhellirtal area for illegally entering Bangladesh and took him to the camp last night.
Later, BGB filed a case against him under Passport Act and handed him over to the Phulbari Police Station while they produced him before a Kurigram court and the court sent him to jail.
