BNP tries to foil elections: Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP leaders tried to foil the upcoming 11th general election by conspiracy with Pakistani agents.

“Finding no response from the people of the country, BNP and Oikya Front leaders had conducted secret meetings with Pakistani intelligence agency ISI for hatching conspiracy to foil the forthcoming election,” he said.

Quader said this while exchanging views with journalists at Noakhali district AL office.

“BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also held meeting at Pakistani high commission in Dhaka…The election will be held in Bangladesh, votes would also be casted by the people of the country…So, what is the role of Pakistan here?” he enquired.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said if BNP wants recurrence of the incidents like 2014, it will be out of point as people of the country would check the situation.

BNP’s internal feud has been exposed…the nomination seekers, who have been deprived, were attacking the BNP office frequently and locked the office, he added.

There is no rebellion in AL and the teamwork would ensure the victory of the party, Quader said.

Noakhali district AL general secretary Ekramul Karim Chowdhury, district AL president Principal Khairul Anam Selim, Noakhali Pourashobha Mayor Shaheed Ullah Khan Sohel, among others, were present.
