Voting is underway peacefully across the country by large, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary said today.
Observers from Canada and Netherlands have also expressed their satisfaction over the peaceful situation at polling stations, he added.
IGP Patwary was speaking to journalists at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College centre in Dhaka this morning after the election began.
“There have been some stray incidents in some places. Law enforcers are working to retain a peaceful environment everywhere,” he said.
When asked about Dr Kamal's allegation of ballot stuffing across the country, he said, no complaint has been filed of any such incident.
