30 hurt as silo roof collapses

At least 30 workers were injured as the roof of an under-construction government food silo collapsed in Jessore's Chowgachha yesterday.

Mohammad Shamim, officer-in-charge of Chowgachha Police Station, said the roof came crashing down along with the beams around 5:00pm. The incident happened when the workers were taking preparations to leave the spot after the day's work.

Locals rescued the workers and took them to Chowgachha Upazila Health Complex.
