Majnu Ekjon Pagol Nohe underway
New comedy series “Majnu Ekjon Pagol Nohe” has begun airing every week from Sunday through Tuesday. The series aired its first episode this week on November 12 at 10pm. Scripted by Brindaban Das, the play is helmed by Sanjit Sarkar and features popular actors Chanchal Chowdhury, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahnaz Khushi, Farhana Mili, Golam Farida Chhanda and more.
Gazipur's scenic Pubail was chosen as the series' prime location for filming. Scriptwriter Brindaban Das said the play contains an important social message. “I always try to incorporate important lessons in my screenplays, and here I have tried to portray how we distance our loved ones when it's most convenient for us,” he added.
Brindaban Das also informed The Daily Star that 104 episodes have been planned for the series so far. Chanchal Chowdhury, who plays the titular role, said, “Throughout my acting career I have portrayed many different characters on screen, but the audience will see me in a new guise here. Majnu is thought to be a madman, but he is anything but crazy. I am truly enjoying this role.”
The series require the acting cast to deliver dialogues in the local Pabna dialect, which has proved to be challenging for some. “It was difficult at first, but as work progressed it began to flow naturally,” said actress Farhana Mili.
“The backbone of this series is its strong narrative, which I believe will draw many regular viewers,” stated Fazlur Rahman Babu.
