Tête-à-tête with Taskeen
A promising actor in the Bangladeshi film industry, Taskeen Rahman came under the spotlight with his captivating performance in ‘Dhaka Attack’. The film was a kick-start to his career, after which his schedule has increasingly become more packed. His acting prowess has garnered him a fan base that continues to grow with time. In an exclusive interview with The Daily Star, the talented actor discusses his endeavours.
What are you currently busy with?
As films are my number one priority, I am keeping myself occupied with that. Currently I am shooting for the film Mission Extreme, and I will shortly begin shooting for another new film titled Shaan.
Since you have become popular and successful at an early stage in your acting career, how do you wish to pursue it?
I believe with popularity, comes responsibility. If I am admired by my fans, then I will have to make sure that I continue to be committed to my art. I plan to work in the industry at least for one year. It does not mean that I will cease to act later, but I just want to give my very best at the moment. Since I am a resident of Australia, currently residing in Bangladesh, I want to make sure my time here is worthwhile as I want to make a positive impact in the entertainment arena.
Dhaka is a busy city with far too much congestion. What are your thoughts on that?
I love the essence of Dhaka city! However, the traffic jam is quite frustrating, as it often keeps me from meeting my schedule. If that could be tackled, it’s an amazing city.
When you are not shooting, what are you up to?
Apart from films, I have also been involved with TVCs. As I am a film buff, I watch countless films when I am home, both foreign and Bangla. I also like to spend time with my dear ones here. I mostly stay at home and avoid getting out unless it’s necessary.
Tell us a little about your films which have been released so far.
My first venture was Dhaka Attack which was rather popular. Next was Sultan where I had relatively lesser screen time, but it was a great experience nonetheless. Jodi Ekdin is my third film which was released not too long ago and was well received by the audience. Last but not the least, was Boyfriend which also did well.
