Jyotika Jyoti excited for Durga Puja
Jyotika Jyoti has gained praise for her acting skills, especially in the films based on the Liberation War of Bangladesh over the years. A popular face in the Bangladeshi television and film arena, Jyoti is busy with new projects.
She recently completed the shooting of the government granted film, "Lal Moroger Jhuti", directed by Nurul Alam Atique.
In a recent conversation with The Daily Star, Jyoti shares her plans for Durga Puja and more.
"I have received invitations from Ramna Kalimondir on the sixth and seventh day of Puja," she shares. "I will spent the eighth day, Ashtami, in Mymensingh with my family."
She will meet her friends in Mymensingh. "This is the best part of the festival. We get to meet so many old friends and celebrate together," says Jyoti.
The actor shares that she bought sharees for all the women and panjabis for all male members of the family.
"Festivals during my childhood were much more enjoyable," asserts Jyoti. "We used to hang out with friends and visit our relatives. We got so many gifts. However, as we grew up, our responsibilities have increased and now, we have to get gifts for others - there is a different kind of joy in that as well."
Jyoti recalls her childhood Puja memories in Kishoreganj at her maternal uncle's house. "Our uncle would bring similar dresses for my sister and me," she says. "We would wait with excitement for the new attires. Once we got them, we would roam around wearing them. Those memories are very special."
"Once during the festival, I was with my father or maternal aunt, when I got lost,"she further shares. "They did find me after a while, but I was very scared!"
Jyoti is excited about her upcoming film "Lal Moroger Jhuti". "I did the shooting in my own town, Gouripur, for the first time," says Jyoti. "We have wrapped up filming, which only adds to the joy of Puja for me."
