“I will bring something new in every film”

Superstar Shakib Khan has been ruling over our film industry for decades. His recent hits, Password and Nolok, rocked the Eid season, this year. With new films already lined up, actor talks about his expectations from his upcoming releases with The Daily Star.

You spent days in Cox’s Bazar while shooting for your upcoming film ‘Agun’. How was the experience?

I had to continuously shoot for 10 days in Cox’s Bazar for Agun. Badiul Alam Khokon is directing the film and he hopes to present me in a new avatar yet again. I will bring something new in every film.

You are also working on ‘Bir’. Has the shooting for the film started yet?

I had recently announced four films under my production house S K Films. Bir is one of them. We are planning to finish this film soon, so that we can start shooting for the other ones.

Are you working with Bollywood actor Nargis Fakhri?

Yes! The shooting for the film will begin in the upcoming year.

The film ‘London’ has recently come into notice. Has the shooting began yet?

I have already signed Iftakar Chowdhury’s London. We are planning to shoot the film in London, and are waiting for the right weather. Currently, we feel January will be the best time to begin the shoot.

You are giving back-to-back hits to your audience. How do you feel about so many fans enjoying your work?

Acting is my profession and it never tires me. However, I want to work more in roles that gratify me as an artiste. I want to be remembered for my roles.

You have been well-received for your work in Kolkata. How do you feel about it?

I take it very positively. It is a matter of pride and joy for me to be able to represent my country beyond borders.
