Documentary on Arnob’s musical journey starts filming
Directed by Abrar Athar, the musical documentary, 'Adhkhana Bhalochele, Adha Mostan' will reflect upon Shayan Chowdhury Arnob's musical journey. Being one of the most popular artistes among young generations, Arnob has won the hearts of millions of music lovers over the years.
Director Abrar Athar aims to present Arnob from a different perspective through the documentary. "I wanted to work on the duality of an artiste, I want to portray Arnob as a performer/artiste and also as a human being," shares Abrar Athar. "We all have vulnerabilities, integrity and other qualities; an artiste is shaped by merging these two different sides of their personality."
"Most fans don't know who he is and this will be a great way for a fan to know the artiste and connect with him," says Abrar. "I am Arnob's friend and also his fan which gives me a unique perspective and this time I wanted to share that with the audience."
According to Abrar, there is a negative perception about documentaries in Bangladesh and most people are not interested to watch them. Abrar Athar and his team aim to challenge this perspective and present a fresh new outlook on musical documentaries. "It has been a musical journey with this shoot; it was not just about the shooting, it was about creating and experimenting with music, practicing and this was all captured on a live camera," shares Arnob.
"We shot the film at the studio, at his home, with his family and friends," shares Abrar. "We worked to create new renditions of his old songs and tried to find out what those songs mean to him today."
"Songs as She Je Boshe Ache, Rastay and many others are very old and I don't want to sing them in the same way anymore," shares Arnob. "I wanted to approach these songs differently, wanted to design them from a different outlook this time."
The team is continuing the shoot in Cox's Bazar today. "We will be shooting in Cox's Bazar today, where I'll be talking more about my life, music, memories and the overall journey," expresses Arnob.
"It was an amazing experience so far; it was about friends hanging out together, playing and listening to music, thinking and discussing creative things and most importantly, doing what we love," expresses Abrar. "It has been a fun ride, working with a big team and also as Abrar is my friend, the whole process was fun for us," Arnob shares.
Talking about challenges, Arnob shares, "The biggest challenge for me was to talk in front of a camera as I am a camera-shy person. Hopefully it will all work out well."
The shooting for the documentary started more than a month ago and Abrar plans to release the documentary in March. Sponsored by Chorki.com, the official release date for the documentary is not yet announced.
