Aruna Biswas reminisces on her beautiful Puja memories

Aruna Biswas started her journey with theatre. She went on to solidify her place in the industry with her phenomenal screen presence in both television and films. In a candid chat with The Daily Star, the actor shares her Durga Puja memories and plans.
She looks back on her childhood memories of Durga Puja fondly. "Those were truly colourful and beautiful days," she says.
The preparations would start two months before the Puja and everything was checked to perfection till the last hour. Her day would begin with an aarti at Ranada Prashad Saha Durga Temple.
"The Puja radiated a virtuously majestic aura," reminisces the actor. "I used to be mesmerised by the silver bowls, cups and spoons. "There were new clothes and massive feasts, where everyone dined on silver plates."
Puja for her now means responsibilities. However, she dearly misses her childhood carefree days, when all she had to think about were her gifts and ways to enjoy.
"Durga Puja was always an opportunity for me to go around and enjoy with my friends," she shares. "Of all places, I loved visiting my school Bharateswari Homes at Mirzapur. My parents also visit this place during the autumnal Puja."
This year, Aruna Biswas will not be visiting her school. She is also avoiding Puja events as things have changed drastically due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, she misses her friends and peers.
The artiste believes that adaptation to technology is the key to fight this pandemic. "I have friends all around the world and this time, we exchanged our Puja greetings virtually," she adds.
The actor also shared that she will be visiting Dhakeshwari Temple on Bijoya Dashami.
Aruna Biswas wished her audience a very happy Durga Puja, but also urged them to be careful. "Let us all live in harmony and enjoy the festival, but with safety precautions," she concludes.
