25 years of Shahnaz Khushi

Shahnaz Khushi, who has been entertaining the audience on television and theatres for over two decades now, recently completed 25 years in the industry as a successful actor. Currently, she is working on the television serials D 20, Shonar Khaancha and Bhodro Para among others. We spoke to the actor about her latest endeavours.

She plays the role of a woman from Barisal in D 20, who lives with her two nieces in a house full of bachelors. In Bhodro Para, she essays the role of a Hindu girl who goes through many obstacles in her life, while in Shonaar Khaancha, she plays the character of a UP member. Upon asking how she would describe her dream role, Shahnaz said that she wants to play the roles of freedom fighter Taramon Bibi, sculptor Ferdousi Priyabhashini, writer and Liberation War heroine, Roma Chowdhury and freedom fighter Kakon Bibi, if ever films or telenovelas are made on their lives.  Some of the most pivotal moments of Shahnaz's career happened while she was working in theatre. The actor shares some of her greatest experiences of working as a theatre artiste. “I feel fortunate to have worked with theatre groups like Aranyak Natyadal and Prachyanat,” says Shahnaz. “I had a great time with them and I began working in television slowly and steadily after that. It has been a rather fruitful journey and I hope to keep acting for as long as I can.”
