Samsung and Fair Electronics organises Art Camp for children with special needs on Pohela Boishakh
Celebrating Bengali New Year 1429, an art camp was arranged for children with special needs was organised by Samsung and Fair Electronics, under the supervision of Nabiha Raida Foundation. The event was held at Samsung Flagship Store, Gulshan Avenue.
Huang Sang Woo, Managing Director, Samsung Electronics Limited and Ruhul Alam Al Mahboob, Chairman, Fair Group inaugurated the programme with welcome address.
During the speech, the Chairman of Fair Group ensured to continue creating jobs for children with special needs.
The Art camp was open for all. Cultural personalities Suborna Mustafa MP and Afzal Hossain, alongside celebrities from showbiz including the likes of Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, Aupee Karim and Iresh Zaker graced the event with their presence, where they spent time with the participants and encouraged them as well.
19 participants from 5 organisations—PROYASH Special Educational Institution, Society for Welfare of Autistic Children, Keraniganj School for the Intellectually Handicapped and Autistic, Hope Autism Center and Down Syndrome Society of Bangladesh participated in this event. All of the contestants were awarded medals, certificates and prizes.
The initiative was supported by the Department of Communications Disorders, Dhaka University, Chairperson Professor Touhida Jahan also attended the programme.
With the help of painters F Rahman Bhutan and Rubina Nargis, the contestants came up with the idea of painting their first Boishakh with a brush stroke.
Member of the Parliament Suborna Mustafa said, "I appreciate the organisers' initiative, however, more business organisations should come forward to stand as a supportive force for these children."
The program concluded with a closing speech by Major General Hamid R Chowdhury, Advisor of Fair Group.
