A look into Urmi’s world of abstract art
Fatema Jasmine Urmi, a passionate artist, thrives to prove her mantle into the world of abstract universe with her surreal artworks. Her passion for painting was reflected through her works, which highlight the intricate harmony between nature and humans.
"As a freelance artist, I continuously explore new artistic avenues, pushing the boundaries of my creativity and experimenting with various styles and techniques. It is my ardent desire to evoke emotions, spark imagination, and initiate thought-provoking conversations through my art," said Urmi.
As an artist, Urmi has a strong affinity for the raw beauty of nature and how it plays a poignant role in each of her paintings.
"It brings me immense joy to see my creations resonate with viewers, evoking emotions and initiating thought-provoking conversations. Each of my painting is a reflection of my inner world which is inspired by the beauty of nature, human connections, and the harmony found in everyday life," added the artist.
Urmi attended the prestigious Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA), where she initially developed her skills and nurtured her artistic vision. During her time at BAFA, she was honoured with first position in the inter-branch "Bhasha Dibosh" poster exhibition held in Dhaka in 2007.
Earlier in 2010, Urmi's artworks were showcased at the Drik Gallery Duet Exhibition. In 2008, her works were displayed at the Group Art Exhibition, organised by SPBA at the US Embassy, and Young Artists Art Exhibition, organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka. Her paintings were also displayed at the Russian Cultural Centre Group Exhibition in 2007.
