Clinton: A riveting story about a young boy’s sacrifice
Filmmaker Prithviraj Das Gupta's "Clinton" was screened at the 15th Children's Film Festival 2022 under the 'International Film Selection' category.
The film centres on a 10-year-old boy called Clinton, who lives in a boarding school in Kalimpong, India. One fine winter morning, Clinton is faced with the toughest decision of sacrificing his priceless possession in order to survive. Through his ultimate sacrifice, he finds his inner strength and courage, which makes him stronger.
"This film comes from a very personal space. It is a revisit to my own childhood when I was studying in a boarding school. I have tried to tell the story with utmost honesty, which presents the troubles of a 10-year-old boy and without fictionalising it with all sorts of adult misconceptions and sentimentalities," said Prithviraj Das Gupta.
