Bangladesh Betar’s Mustafizur receives BRAC Migration Media Award
In recognition to his contribution to ensure safe migration, Md Mustafizur Rahman, the deputy director of Bangladesh Betar, has been awarded 6th BRAC Migration Media Award. He also received the award in 2016, 2018 and 2019. This year he received the award for 'Swapna Joyer Pathe', an awareness raising programme on safe migration. Mustafizur Rahman has so far bagged 17 national and international awards including Asia-Pacific Institute of Broadcasting Development (AIBD)- Best Radio Award, Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Special Jury Award, Meena Media Award for three times. Most of these radio programmes focus on safe migration, prevention of child abuse and labour, prevention of early marriage.
Mentionably, this year 17 journalists received BRAC Migration Media Award on Thursday (December 30).
Minister for Overseas Employment Imran Ahmed handed over the awards in a ceremony at BRAC Centre in Dhaka. Each award winner was awarded a crest, financial grant and a certificate.
Bureau Of Manpower, Employer & Training (BMET) Director General Md Shahidul Alam NDC was the special guest, while BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh chaired the ceremony. BRAC Senior Director KAM Morshed delivered the welcome speech.
BRAC introduced this award in 2015 as an initiative to recognise the media's role in promoting safe migration through objective journalism and this is the sixth time this award was handed out.
