Fakhrul Arefeen Khan's feature directorial debut “Bhuban Majhi” is continuing is strong critical response run, now being nominated for two international film festivals – in South Africa and India.
The Liberation War-based film that was released earlier this year has been invited to screen at the Cape Town International Film Market & Festival in South Africa. The festival will take place from October 12-21 in Cape Town.
The other festival “Bhuban Majhi” has been invited to is the all Lights India International Film Festival, to be held December 1-4 at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, the world's biggest film studio, under the flagship event – 3rd Indywood Film Carnival. Noted Indian film director Shyam Benegal is the Film Director for the festival.
Starring Parambrata Chatterjee, Aparna Ghose, Maznun Mizan, Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Waqeel Ahad and others in the central roles, the film connects Bangladesh's Liberation War of 1971 to 2013. The film released in Bangladesh on March 3 and received largely positive reviews. It has also screened in France, Australia, India, Canada and USA.
