Spice Girls tease reunion in new video
In honour of the 20th anniversary of the U.K. debut of their debut single, “Wannabe,” the Spice Girls released a YouTube video teasing a reunion with Melanie “Mel B” Brown (Scary Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), sans Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and Mel C (Sporty Spice).
The trio has apparently dubbed itself GEM — the initials of the three pop stars — and launched a new website. “You've stood by us for 20 years, and we want to say a big thank you,” Halliwell says in the video.
Last month, speculation arose that the iconic girl group would replace Beckham and Mel C in an upcoming reunion. The video seems to confirm that the trio will, indeed, continue as such.
“We want to celebrate and have a party, and when we do, you're all invited!” the girls enthusiastically shout.
No specific information has been released as to how or when the party will commence.
