“It is fulfilling to be able to depict so many roles”
Mehazabien Chowdhury began her journey into the limelight as the winner of Lux-Channel i Superstar. The popular actor now prefers to stick to single episode plays and tele-films, while occasionally maintaining a burgeoning modeling career. In a recent interview with The Daily Star, she reveals more about her recent ventures.
How busy are you with Eid ventures?
Mehazabien: I am on set everyday now, and there is a high possibility that all of them are to be aired during the Eid holidays.
Since you are involved with so many tele-fictions, do you ever find repetition within the narratives?
Mehazabien: Not really. Every fiction has a different story, and I shall be portraying different characters as well. Viewers will be able to see me as Parvati in one play, and as Suchitra Sen in another. As an actor, it is fulfilling to be able to depict so many roles.
What do you have in mind regarding your acting career?
Mehazabien: Once you are serious about acting, you will have very little desire to do anything else professionally. My desire is to come across more opportunities to do well in this field, and be involved in strong narratives.
How much time do you get to prepare for a role?
Mehazabien: Once I receive the script, I take time to analyse my character to figure out the best method of portrayal. Once I am in character, I can blend into the story.
You usually have a very busy schedule; do you have time for yourself and your family?
Mehazabien: I make time for all that, unless there is back to back shooting. There are several times in a year when I don't accept new roles, and I invest all that time into family and self care.
Is there a reason for not appearing in TV serials?
Mehazabien: There is no particular reason for that. I just enjoy acting in single episode TV fictions and telefims.
