Colleagues pay tribute to Mizu Ahmed

Mizu Ahmed, a powerful actor of Dhallywood, started his career through acting in the film “Trishna” in 80s, and went on to act in several hundred films and instilled his position as a villainous character. The actor recently breathed his last in a heart attack, and colleagues of his from the film fraternity shared their memories of the actor.

Mizu Ahmed was an illustrious actor who equally loved his profession and the country. He was a Freedom Fighter. He always stood by the artistes as a member of our Film Artistes' Association. I am shocked at his sudden death. He acted in my first film “Chander Alo”. I also acted in his first produced film “Chalbaj”. I also enacted the role of a hero in one of his joint productions (with late actor Rajib) “Mohot”. I have many memories with him. May Allah grant him Jannat.

I still cannot accept the demise of Mizu Ahmed. It fills my heart with so much sadness and pain. We met a few days back and had an adda. I acted with him in his last film “Pashan”. He was certainly a great artiste. What is more important to note about him is that he was a man of great heart. He was a great fan of cricket. We would at times discuss cricket. I enacted the role of his son in a film. At one point, I donned the role of his brother. Again, we enacted two different negative roles in the same film. His death is a great loss for our film industry. May Almighty rest him in heaven.
