Bon Voyage to Jaya

National Film Award-winning actor Jaya Ahsan departed for USA yesterday following an invitation from Banga Sammelan. The actor is slated to return in August after a month-long stay.

“Banga Sammelan's activities are crucial in bringing together Bangalees abroad, and it is a great honour to be a part of it,” said the actor, who had previously traveled to the USA last year for similar purposes. Her last visit also earned her the award for Best Actress by the association. This year, a screening of “Bishorjon” will be held. Helmed by Kaushik Ganguly, Jaya Ahsan plays the female lead alongside Abir Chatterjee in the film that won India's National Film Award for Best Bangla film.

Her travels include a layover in Kolkata where she will be accompanied by twenty artistes to the same destination.

Her most recent ventures include a short film titled “Bhalobashar Shohor”, and the full length feature film “Beauty Circus.” She also recently wrapped up shooting for the film “Debi.”
