Mamo signs her Bollywood debut project

Former Lux Superstar Zakia Bari Mamo has a tight schedule between film and TV ventures, like many other artistes during this time of the year, but the actress has an exciting announcement to all her fans. For the first time, she has signed a Bollywood film, helmed by Faisal Saif. And according to the actress, she will be playing the lead role.
After Eid, the actress will fly to India to complete the deal for the yet-untitled film. It is still uncertain as to who will be joining her on screen yet, but the actress will begin work very soon.
“I have always felt a great commitment towards my work here, and I shall tackle the new venture in the same manner. My country's pride is of utmost importance to me, and I want my fellow citizens to be proud of my work,” stated a determined Mamo. She also added that the director had reached out to her, after being recommended by a renowned artiste.
Her character is tentatively named Jaya, and regarding the script Mamo said, “The name of my character will change, but the narrative revolves around a woman and the circumstances she confronts with. For now, I can only reveal that it is a thriller.”
The actress speaks rudimentary Hindi, but she will receive language lessons as soon as possible. Shooting is expected to commence on December, before which she will invest her time in preparing for the role.
On home ground, she is currently shooting for a new film venture directed by Arun Chowdhury, titled “Alta Banu”. She appears in the title role, regarding which she says, “Shooting is almost complete, and I can say that the audience has never seen me in a role like this before.”
For Eid ul Azha, the actor will appear in a number of single episode plays and tele-films. She is to also appear in a five episode play alongside Chanchal Chowdhury titled “Bhangon.”
