Actors' Association elections on Feb 10

TV actors and artistes are gearing up for election campaigns for the Actors' Association. A total of 715 members of the Association will cast votes to elect their colleagues in the industry to represent the organisation. 

The election will take place on February 10 at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.  Supporters have decked the premises with posters of candidates. Leading up to the election, contenders have been occupied with visiting filming sets to campaign. Mamunur Rashid expressed his support in the initiative, saying “I would like to see competent artistes stand up for leadership in the Actors' Association.”

Contenders vying for the position of Chairperson are Shahidul Alam Sachchu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, DA Tayeb and Golam Mustafa, while Azad Abul Kalam, Iqbal Babu, Zahid Hossain Shovon, Rafiqullah Selim, Tanvin Sweety, Tareen Jahan, Adittya Alam are contending for Vice Chairperson.

Ahsan Habib Nasim, Mir Sabbir, and Siddiqur Rahman are candidates for General Secretary.

Candidacy for Organising Secretary includes Shahid Alamgir and Lutfar Rahman George; while Rownak Hassan, Sumona Shoma, Ashraf Kabir, Kamal Hossain and Anisur Rahman Milon are running for Joint Secretary.

Tania Ahmed is vying for the position of Treasurer. She is the only candidate in this category.

Shahriar Nazim Joy and Urmila Srabonti Kar are candidates for Publicity and Publication Secretary. Shirin Bokul and Shamima Tushti are going head to head for the post of Welfare Secretary.

Seeking to fill the position of Event Secretary are Bonnya Mirza, Arman Parvez, Hasan Jahangir and Shafiul Alam Babu.

Adnan Faruk Hillol and Omer Ayaz Oni are competing for Information and Communications Secretary.

Contending for the position of Executive Committee Member are Zakia Bari Mamo, Nausheen Nahrin Mou, Selim Mahbub, Ahsanul Haque Minu and others.
