Shah Rukh Khan asked to pay Rs 1.93 lakh for ramp demolition
After demolishing the illegal ramp built outside Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow, Mannat, in suburban Bandra, last month, the Bandra Municipal Committee (BMC) has decided to recover the costs from the actor himself, reports The Indian Express.
BMC sent a notice to Shah Rukh Khan on March 5, with a bill of Rs 1.93 lakh.
The residents of the surrounding area had accused SRK of encroaching on public property as the ramp obstructed movement to Mount Mary Basilica during the annual Bandra Fair. The ramp was used to park the actor’s vanity van at times.
BJP MP Poonam Mahajan had submitted a written complaint to BMC chief, asking the civic body to demolish the ramp. However, in the complaint, Poonam Mahajan is said to have not named Shah Rukh Khan directly.
On the morning of February 14, the BMC officials and police had gathered outside ‘Mannat’ and brought down the structure.
The area had been barricaded as locals from the surrounding areas had gathered to watch it being taken down.
