Anushilon's “Enternet” enthrals Rajshahi

“Enternet”, a play by Rajshahi University's theatre group Anushilon Natyadal ends with the words “Come back, come back” -- a clarion call to youths who have taken to the path of militancy and terrorism.
Silence fell over the darkened hall of Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium of Rajshahi University on the night of October 4, as only the chorus call by performers and background music vibrated through the hall. The audience silently stayed glued to their seats till the lights came on. Then they gave the actors a standing ovation.
Renowned litterateur Hasan Azizul Haque was among the audience in the packed 600-capacity auditorium. “The play graphically depicts events in the country and across the globe. I was glued to my seat,” he said.
The play threw light on how the state, its politics, education, culture, social and family traditions, modern technologies and nefarious local and foreign vested groups are affecting the lives of youths of the country.
“The play was a major success as shown by a houseful audience,” said the writer-director of the play Moloy Bhowmik, a teacher from the university's dramatics and music department.
The 60th production of Anushilon Natyadal is a low-budget play and can be staged at any location, Bhowmik added.
