Art exhibition of Samar Majumder starts Wednesday

A week-long art exhibition of artist Samar Majumder titled “Soil and Spirit” starts on Wednesday at Dhaka Art Centre.
Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman, Padma Bhushan, will inaugurate the exhibition at 5:30pm while eminent artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury will be the guest of honour. Poet Shyam Sunder Sikder, chairman of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), will chair the session.
Samar, a graduate from the arts faculty of Dhaka University, received the Jatiya Granthakendra award six times for book cover designs. His works also include the cover of Oshomapto Attojibonee: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Sixty of his best works will be showcased in the exhibition that will continue from 3:00pm to 8:00pm.
He is currently working as the assistant chief designer of the BSCIC.
