67 polling centres in 2 Gaibandha upazilas 'risky'

At least 67 out 164 polling centres in Gaibandha Sadar and Sadullapur upazilas have been identified as 'vulnerable' ahead of tomorrow's polls, according to the district police superintendent.
In Sadar upazila, as many as 2, 96,046 voters of 13 unions are expected to exercise their right to franchise through 97 polling centres. Of them, 40 centres are marked as 'risky'.
In Sadullapur upazila, a total of 2,01,273 voters of 11 unions are expected to cast their votes 67 polling centers. Of them, 27 centers are marked as 'vulnerable'.
Candidate and their supporters are busy with last minute campaign to woo voters. Many of the candidates along with their supporters are moving door to door and seeking voters' blessings.
Meanwhile, mobile court fined over 15 candidates    in Sader Upazila. for violating election code of conduct.
In Sader upazila, 11 candidates are contesting the election for chairman post, seven for vice-chairman post and four for woman vice-chairman post.
The chairman candidates are Shah Sarower Kabir (AL), Hasan Mahmud Siddique (AL rebel), Mominul Hasan Juton (AL rebel), BNP candidate Mahbubur Rahman Tulu, Sheikh Samad Azad (BNPrebel), JP candidate Abdur Rashid Sarker, Arafat Akhter Neela (JP rebel), Ahsanul Habib Sayeed of BSD, Mihir Ghosh of CPB, and Abdul Karim of Jamaat.
The vice-chairman canaddates are Abu Saleh Musa Jongi Nuri,  AKM Shamim Ahmed, Anisur Rahman, Golam Rabbani shah, Mosharraf Hossain, Morshed Habib Sohel, Mahmud Sarower Mukta.
Condenders for Woman vice-chairman are Nilufer Yasmin Shilpi, Shilpi Khatun, Rashida Begum and Sultana Ferdous Moni.
In Sadullapur Upazila four candidates are contesting for chairman post, nine for vice-chairman post and three for woman vice-chairman post.
The chairman candidates are Shahriar Khan Biplob (AL), MA Wahed Mia (AL rebel), Saidur Rahman of 19-party alliance, and BNP's Shariful Islam Rafique.
Candidates contesting for the vice-chairman post are Abul Basher Md Hannan Pintu, ATM Didarul Islam, Appel Mahmud, Aminul Islam, Al-Mamun Azmi, Shamsul Hasan, Jahiruddin, Shahidullahel Kabir Faruk, and Syed Manjurul Islam.
Woman vice-chairman candidates are Akhter Banu Lucky, Mahmuda Begum, and Shahana Begum Lucky.
