Threat to Iqbal Sobhan protested

The Manikganj unit of Bangladesh Sangbadik Samity (BSS) at a meeting held at the local press condemned the 'death threat" to Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Editor of Bangladesh Observer and President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ).

Speakers at the meeting urged the government to nab and punish the culprits.

BSS Manikganj unit President Md Liakot Ali presided over by the meeting, addressed by among others, BSS Central Committee Secretary Kalyan Saha, Office Secretary Golam Sarwar Sanu, Cultural Secretary Mojibur Rahman and its Manikganj unit secretary Mustaque Ahmed.

Manikganj unit president of Bangladesh Bar Association Md Meher Uddin and Manikganj ADAB President Abdul Mojid and Dipak Ghosh in separate statements protested the incident and termed it a threat to press freedom.
