Nagar Baul rocks Fantasy Kingdom

James, more familiar asNagar Baul, is equally passionate about all the shows in which he performs. Determining the line up of the songs he gets attentive about every minor detail of the show and continues his practise till the previous day of the show.

This September 5, one such show of Nagar Baul rocked the Fantasy Kingdom. James was seen restless since noon to be on the spot and finally when the spectators caught sight of him in the evening, he was cool and composed with all his required preparations. The standing ovation and applause given by the audience overwhelmed him.

With the drumbeats of Romel, his name was being chanted all around. Lifting his hands towards the sky, he said, 'Sky is up there and underneath is the earth, I love you, friends' and started to sing his first song Ekjon Bibagi.

The audience went mad in ecstasy. What a scene it was! The beat of the music and the powerful voice of Nagar Baul made it difficult for the audience right in front of the stage to remain in their seats. The youngsters were seen dancing and jumping around over each other's shoulder. The songs went on one after another--Money Rekho, Dukhhini, Dushtu Chheler Dal, Priyo Akashi, Sultana Bibiyana, Lace Fita Lace, Pother Bap, Bijli, Ma, Diwana Mastana, Kobita and others. James knew that without the song Pagla Hawa, the show would be incomplete. With the rhythm of music, half of the audience shouted Pagla and the other half Hawa and ultimately they sang the whole song with James. The show ended with Bangladesh, Zikir and Jatra.

According to the organisers of Fantasy Kingdom, such programmes are arranged every Friday, but this was perhaps one of the most remarkable ones.
