Probir Kumar Sarkar made acting registrar of DU

Dhaka University Vice Chancellor's secretary (Deputy Registrar) Probir Kumar Sarkar has been appointed acting registrar of the university.

A press release issued from DU public relations confirmed the news to The Daily Star.

Probir Kumar Sarkar was a student of the Department of Geology in 1984-85 session.

He joined as a university official in 1994 and previously served as secretary to the Pro-VC's office.

The university's press release also said, Vice Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman appointed Applied Mathematics' Prof Md Abdus Samad as acting dean of the Faculty of Science, according to Dhaka University Order, 1973's article 17(2) of the first statues.

Former Deputy Director of Accounts (Systems Analyst) Sohrab Hossain was appointed as acting director of Accounts, the press release added.
