Forcibly cutting students' hair: Rabindra University closed indefinitely, teacher suspended
Rabindra University authorities have suspended teacher Farhana Yeasmin Baten for forcefully cutting the hair of 13 students.
The university administration took the decision during an urgent meeting of the syndicate committee last night, reports our Pabna correspondent.
The authority has also declared the university closed indefinitely in order to calm down the ongoing students' agitation, said Professor Md Abdul Latif, treasurer and the acting vice chancellor of the university.
"Due to the ongoing unrest in the campus, university authority has taken a decision to close its administrative and academic activities for indefinite number of days," he said.
Important official work and probe committee activities will continue as usual, the acting VC said.
