Prof Yunus speaks in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan on 'social business'

Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus has delivered speeches on his idea of "Social Business" and "The World of Three Zeros" in Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

Dr Yunus, the microfinance pioneer, addressed the Qalam Media Group event in Astana, Kazakhstan on December 19, and Central Asian University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on December 21.

A press release issued from Yunus Centre today said the event featured Professor Yunus as the keynote speaker.

He addressed an audience of scholars, government representatives and general public.

The attendees included Sayasat Nurbek, minister of science and higher education of Kazakhstan; Bagdat Mussin, minister of digital development, innovations, and aerospace industry; and Kairat Kelimbetov, manager of Astana International Financial Centre and former minister of economy and head of National Bank of Kazakhstan; and business leaders including Timur Turlov, founder and owner of Freedom Holding Corp.

Prof Yunus visited Tashkent on December 21 and shared his insights and vision of a world of three zeros adopting the idea of Social Business and Three Zero Clubs with students, faculty, and guests at the Central Asian University.

President of the university Kamran Gulamov hosted Prof Yunus with honours and showed interest in collaborating on the field of health, education, and other fields with the Yunus Centre, the press release said.
