Ministry of Youth and Sports launches e-commerce platform to support young entrepreneurs
To ensure that farmers get fair prices for their products and consumers get quality products through fair deals amid the pandemic, paikarisale.com (http://www. paikarisale.com/), a sustainable, social welfare e-commerce platform, was launched recently.
The platform is conceived through a public-private partnership.
State Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Md Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP, was the chief guest of the launching ceremony. Speaking at the programme, the state minister said, "This e-commerce site will contribute in eliminating unemployment problems and creating more job opportunities. Trained young entrepreneurs from the youth and sports ministry will be engaged in processing, marketing and distributing the products."
"Primarily, we will support young entrepreneurs from different regions who produce mango and litchi in abundance. Entrepreneurs from all over the country will be assigned in a pilot project to distribute those mangoes and litchis through paikarisale.com. Later, other agricultural products will be included in this platform for distribution," he added.
Md Akhter Hossain, Secretary of the Youth and Sports Ministry, was present as a special guest at the programme.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Akhter Hossain said, "Young entrepreneurs will be able to sell and buy agricultural products from different regions of the country for fair prices through this platform. I hope that the sellers will get fair prices and buyers will also be able to buy quality goods."
The programme was chaired by the Director General of the Department of Youth Development, Akhtaruz Zaman Khan Kabir.
Leo Burnett, Mohammad, Managing Director of Spellbound, Sadequl Arefin, Executive Director of The Earth Society and Mohammad Mamun Mia, Project Director of Spellbound, were among the attendees of the programme.
