Shakib only fifth player to scalp 400 wickets in T20s

Premier allrounder Shakib Al Hasan achieved yet another milestone as he became only the fifth player in history to scalp 400 wickets in T20s during his side Fortune Barishal's encounter against Minister Group Dhaka at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today.
Shakib, the Fortune Barishal skipper, needed a solitary wicket to reach the feat. The 34-year-old, however, remained wicketless in his first three overs.
And when he came to bowl his final over, Dhaka needed only seven runs for victory and Dhaka skipper Mahmudullah Riyad struck the all-rounder for a huge maximum over long-on in the very first ball of the over.
But Shakib removed Mahmudullah in the following delivery, having the right-hander caught at extra cover to reach the milestone.
Shakib, who made his debut in the format back in 2006, achieved the feat in his 353rd T20 game.
Only four other cricketers belong to the 400-wicket club in T20s. Shakib now joins the likes of West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and spinner Sunil Narine, South Africa leg-spinner Imran Tahir and Afghanistan's leg-spinner Rashid Khan.
