Ireland in tatters in chase of 203
Ireland lost four quick wickets in their chase of a mammoth target in the rain-affected second T20I against hosts Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today.
Chasing a mammoth 203-run target in a 17-over-game, the visitors got off to the worst possible start. Taskin Ahmed hit a perfect line to entice Ireland's stand-in skipper Paul Stirling to poke at a delivery swinging away from the right-hander. The ball got an edge off the bat as wicketkeeper Liton Das, just after scoring a blistering fifty with the bat, took an acrobatic catch by diving to his right to dismiss Stirling for a golden duck.
Ireland's troubles compounded when they lost Lorcan Tucker to Shakib Al Hasan in the very first delivery of the second over as well. Tucker, going down one knee, hurried his sweep shot and gave an easy catch to the fielder at square leg.
Shakib then struck twice in his second over, reducing the visitors to 32 for four in four overs.
