Three fresh faces in Asian Cup Qualifiers' preliminary squad
Three fresh faces were called up while as many as nine players returned to the squad as Bangladesh Football Federation on Saturday announced a 21-member preliminary squad, barring Bashundhara Kings players, for next month's FIFA Friendly against Indonesia and the Asian Cup Qualifiers to be played in Malaysia.
The 21-member squad, which will start their training camp on May 16 in Dhaka, will be revamped to a final 23-member squad following Bashundhara Kings' arrival from India, where they are scheduled to play AFC Cup, on May 26.
The Bangladesh team will play Indonesia in Jakarta on June 1 as part of preparation for the Asian Cup Qualifiers in Kuala Lumpur where they will face Bahrain, Turkmenistan and Malaysia on June 8, 11 and 14 respectively.
The new call-ups to the squad are: Abahani midfielder Abu Saied, Chittagong Abahani midfielder Sohel Rana and Uttar Baridhara midfielder Papon Singh.
The ones that made it back to the squad are: Riyadul Hasan Rafi, Maraz Hossain, Faisal Ahmed Fahim, Rahmat Mia, Saad Uddin, Hemanta Vincent Biswas, Isa Faisal, Mitul Marma and Mohammad Nayeem.
BFF Elite Academy's goalkeeper Asif Hossain has also been included in the 21-man setup, but only for training purposes.
