Samuel Boateng matches 17-year-old record

Samuel Boateng became only the second footballer in the history of Bangladesh's top-tier professional football league to score six goals in a match during Rahmatganj MFS' 6-1 thrashing of Dhaka Wanderers at the Birshreshtha Flight Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Saturday.
The Ghanaian forward matched the record of six goals in a match scored by Nigerian forward Nwachukwu Paul Macjames, who had scored all those goals for Mohammedan in a 7-1 victory against Boateng's current side, Rahmatganj, in the first edition of Bangladesh Premier League in 2006-07.
This was also the third consecutive six-goal haul for Rahmatganj -- who had inflicted a 6-0 and a 6-1 defeat on Youngmen's Fakirerpul Club in their previous two matches -- one in the league and the other in the Federation Cup.
Saturday's goal-fest from the Ghanaian helped the Old Dhaka outfit to their fifth win in six matches, taking the team's tally to 15 points – three behind league leaders Mohammedan, who beat basement club Chittagong Abahani 5-1 in another match of the day at the Rofique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.

Chittagong Abahani, who are yet to get a point from the current campaign, kept the Black and Whites at bay in first half, aided by the sending off of Mohammedan defender Shakil Ahmed Tapu following a second booking in the 20th minute.
Mohammedan, however, emerged strong in the second half with Burkina Faso defender Mounzir Coulidiati breaking the deadlock with a header in the second minute before Emmanuel Sunday doubled the lead. Substitute forward Sourov Dewan then netted a brace before Chittagong Abahani defender Salim Reza scored an own goal to give Mohammedan a 5-0 lead before.
Substitute Imtiaz Sultan Jitu converted a spot-kick for Chittagong Abahani to reduce the margin in the stoppage time of the second half.
