Kingsley included in preliminary squad for tri-nation tournament

Abahani forward Eleta Kingsley was included in Bangladesh's preliminary squad for the upcoming tri-nation tournament involving Brunei and Seychelles, slated to kick off later this month in Sylhet.
The 33-year-old Nigeria-born footballer was previously roped in to the initial squad for the 2021 SAFF Championship in Maldives but eventually was dropped from the final squad due to eligibility issues as he did not receive clearance from FIFA.
Eligible for Nigeria by birth, Kingsley obtained Bangladeshi citizenship in June 2021 through naturalisation and became the first foreign footballer to have made the switch.
Since then, Kingsley, who has been a common face in Bangladesh club football, has expressed his desire to don the red and green colours having spent almost 13 years in the country playing for several top-flight clubs.
The general secretary of the Bangladesh Football Federation, Abu Nayeem Shohagh, was confident to play Kingsley this time around and said he was ready to explain anything if anyone raises questions about forward.
