Bangladesh Army retained the Bangabandhu National Football Championship (NFC) title with a 4-2 win over Chattogram Zilla football team in the final at the Birshreshtha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur today.

The defending champions took the lead in the sixth minute through an Imtiaz Raihan strike before Imran doubled the lead in the 26th minute to help Bangladesh Army take control of the game.

Chattogram, however, hit back with a 37th-minute strike from Borhan but Bangladesh Army restored their lead two minutes later when Shohaf netted the team's third goal.

After resumption, Chattogram regrouped to reduce the margin again when Omar converted a penalty in the 48th minute. But two minutes later, Mamun struck the fourth goal for Army as he converted from the spot to seal the victory.

With six goals to his name, Army's Imtiaz remained the highest scorer of the tournament. He was also named the best player while Uttom Barua of Chattogram won the best goalkeeper of the tournament award.
