Maruful fined

Arambagh Krira Chakra coach Maruful Haque has been fined Tk 50,000 by the disciplinary committee of the Bangladesh Football Federation yesterday for his involvement in an unsavoury incident following his side's 4-2 defeat against Rahmatganj MFS in the Bangladesh Premier League last week.

The incident took place as Maruful rushed inside the gallery to confront a supporter, who had allegedly verbally abused him all through the game. The supporter was also beaten up by some of the officials of the Arambagh Club after the match while the former national team coach was present.

The disciplinary committee, upon reviewing the match commissioner's report and media reports, opined that the veteran coach breached the disciplinary code by going inside the gallery and confronting the fan.
