Super Performer of the Day
EDDIE LEIE
After the start of the exchange, Soumya Sarkar was doing well. He was smacking the boundaries at will and the South Africans, for a moment, seemed a bit nervous. That's when captain Faf du Plessis decided to bring in the debutant Eddie Leie and he struck in his very first over. His first wicket was that of Soumya, the dangerman. The left-hander was charging against every other bowler and he attempted to do the same against the leg-spinner, however, the debutant smartly slipped in a wider delivery to get him stumped. He then got hold of Sabbir Rahman with a beautiful flighted delivery. Having placed a deep midwicket fielder, he wanted Sabbir to go for the sweep and that's exactly what happened. Sabbir got caught despite finding the middle of the bat. He might have been a bit luck to get rid of Mushfiqur Rahim -- caught off a full toss -- but it just ended a brilliant first day on the field for the 28-year-old.
