Shakib gets the better of Tamim on DPL return

Both Shakib Al Hasan and ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal took the field for the first time this Dhaka Premier League (DPL) to play for their respective sides Legends of Rupganj and Prime Bank in the Super League game at BKSP today.
Shakib, who had signed for Mohammedan Sporting for this season, could not play any matches for the side due to national team assignment before illness to family members saw him skip the South Africa Test tour. Tamim Iqbal meanwhile was also involved with the national side and played his first DPL game this season. In a rain-curtailed game reduced to 33 overs for each side, Tamim started well with a six off pacer Al Amin Hossain but Shakib ensured that Tamim's innings did not go much further as he picked up the wicket of his national teammate as Tamim tried to whack a short-length delivery through mid-wicket but found the fielder.

Shakib picked two wickets in 7 overs as Anamul Haque's 73 and Yasir Ali's 39 saw Prime Bank reach 152 all out. However, Tamim may have the last smile as Rupganj slumped to 84 for 7 after Shakib's run out. Taijul Islam had one stump to aim at from point and effected the direct hit to see Shakib depart for 21 off 34 deliveries.
